Digital Contact Zones

Digital Contact Zones

CISTA Arts is pleased to announce the publication of A Guidebook to Digital Contact Zones by the UK-based designer and scholar Emile Devereaux.

What are the possibilities and limitations of digital arts to bring together different points of view from around the globe? The digital provides access to an active arena of space for collaboration and creativity, for the crafting of narratives, even if this ephemeral terrain remains out of our control.

Creative exercises and prompts might spark you into action. The catalogue suggests innovative approaches for working with the digital: participatory 'maker' workshops, online cartographic approaches, and other ways of collaborating at a distance.

This catalogue of digital art features interviews with fellow collaborators: the filmmaker Radhamohini Prasad (Kalimpong, India), the ceramics sculptor Monica Van Den Dool (Silicon Valley, California), and Fatemeh Takht-keshian, artist and curator of the CISTA online arts platform.
