Valeria Shurko
photographer, was born in Russia and is currently based in Moscow.
I am Valeria Shurko, a Krasnodar-born photographer currently living and working in Moscow. Since 2019, I have been organizing photo projects and refining my creative skills in the city. I have showcased my work at various solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. Notably, I was awarded the A-list Society of American Art's best photography prize and the Hungarian Contemporary Art Prize in the photography category. My passion lies in storytelling through portraiture, with a particular focus on capturing the journeys and beauty of young girls. I aim to go beyond aesthetics and reveal their authentic narratives, inspiring others to appreciate the inner beauty of all individuals.
In 2019 I started working in Moscow, where I regularly organize photo projects and develop my creative skills. I have held several solo and group exhibitions and participated in many national and international group exhibitions, including London Serenditipy - UK 2023, studio "YULANTAART '' 2023, Republic of Kazakhstan, Karaganda. I was awarded the A-list Society of American art award for best photography and HUNGARIAN CONTEMPORARY ART PRIZE in the category of photography.
I'm a passionate photographer who wholeheartedly believes in the power of storytelling through portraiture. My work revolves around capturing the unique life journeys of girls and revealing their inherent beauty to the world. I firmly believe that every person has a story worth telling, and my mission is to provide a platform for these young girls to have their voices heard.
Through my lens, I strive to go beyond just capturing aesthetically pleasing images. I aim to unravel the raw and authentic narratives that lie within each girl, allowing their stories to be told in a visually captivating manner. Each portrait becomes a testament to their unique triumphs, struggles, and dreams.
Through my work, I hope to inspire others to truly see the beauty in everyone, beyond the confines of physical appearance. I believe that everyone deserves to be celebrated, and it is my passion to capture and amplify the unique stories of remarkable girls.
