In this online exhibition, Entangled Geographies: Displacement, Belonging, and the Spaces In Between, CISTA ARTS brings together a diverse range of visual narratives that reflect the shifting nature of identity, place, and memory in a world marked by migration, exile, climate change, and contested borders.
The selected works delve into the tensions between rootedness and dislocation, drawing attention to how individuals and communities navigate the emotional, political, and psychological landscapes of belonging. From personal journeys of displacement to collective expressions of cultural transformation, these artworks reimagine ‘home’ not as a fixed site, but as a fluid, transitional, and often fragmented condition.
Through varied media and interdisciplinary approaches, participating artists challenge established notions of geography and identity. Their practices intersect with social commentary, lived experience, and historical memory—offering perspectives that are at once intimate and global.
This exhibition is a testament to the power of art to chart invisible maps, reveal hidden narratives, and give voice to the experiences that unfold across—and beyond—borders.
